    WHAT IS A REBUILD?

  • Data is transferred to a safe location.

  • Hard drive is wiped clean removing all contents through a process called reformatting.

  • The operating system, such as Microsoft Windows, is reinstalled onto the computer.

  • Other programs that you legally own are reinstalled from the original CDs or downloads and udpated with the necessary updates.

  • Your data is then transferred back to your computer.

  • WHY IS A REBUILD NECESSARY?

  • Sometimes viruses and spyware can cause damage to computers beyond repair.

  • Sometimes programs get corrupted and will not work.

  • Sometimes the operating system ceases to work.

  • Sometimes users accidently remove the wrong files damaging programs, operating systems, or both.

  • WHY SHOULD PROTECTED COMPUTERS IN AN OFFICE BE REBUILT?

  • Computers being handed from one person to another to another is just collecting problems.

  • Uninstall, reinstall, upgrades, updates, and the like build unnecessary files the can have adverse affects later.

  • If shareware (try it for free and buy it programs) and freeware (free programs) are not restricted in the office, this adds to more potential of corruption especially if ignored because of newer downloadable programs.

  • WHAT HAPPENS TO MY "STUFF"?

  • Your "stuff", called data, is copied to a temporary location for protection.

  • The data is then scanned for viruses.

  • Your computer is rebuilt and then the data restored to a special folder usually called "old data".

  • This then allows you to select what you want to keep and immediately move it to its new location and yet still have everything in the "old data" folder for unknown future needs.

  • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

  • The process itself on average can take about three (billable) hours depending upon the amount of data and the number and types of software programs you have.

  • In several cases, it may take even longer.

  • Typically the computer can be returned to you within 24 to 48 hours.

  • HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

  • We charge $30 per hour with a maximum charge of $120.

  • We set this maximum charge because in this "throw away society" many are so quick to purchase a new computer if the old one requires more time than this to rebuild.
